Make Organizing FunA friend recently asked me if it was possible to make organizing fun. As a professional organizer, I'm like the Energizer bunny when it comes to all things organized. I love to purge, sort, categorize, and store! But my family and friends are quick to give me a reality check - organizing isn't fun and exciting for everyone. If you're in need of a way to spice up an organizing experience, then try this: add a little entertainment to the mix!

Organizing + Entertainment = More Manageable, FunThe key is to eat away at the mess, little by little, until it all disappears. The process is much less overwhelming this way!Start small - a corner of the kitchen, a shelf in the closet, or a cabinet in the bathroom. Start short - 20 minutes. And combine these power sessions with your favorite music or shows... Put on your tunes and work through 4 - 5 songs (20 minutes) max. The music will motivate you to keep plugging away, and it'll take your mind off the fact that you're working. - OR - During an hour-long TV show, there will be several commercial breaks. Instead of watching the commercials, which are normally a tremendous waste of time, work through them by focusing on something that needs organizing. After a month of 20 minute sessions or weekly TV shows, you will start to see great progress and that will spur you on even more. (You may even start to believe that you can make organizing fun!) You heard it here first, folks - watching TV and listening to music can actually help your home organization efforts!
