The Cost of Disorganization
Disorganization has many negative side effects, including depleting your time and increasing your stress and frustration. Who wants to deal with that?! I truly believe most people want to rid these negative results from their lives but just haven't found the source of self-motivation to get organized once and for all.
Money Talks
Maybe this sounds like you. How long have you been telling yourself that you will organize the closet? The files? The photos? The cupboards? The calendar? If having an organized home is a long-time - yet still unreached - goal of yours, then you need something to motivate you. While each individual is motivated by many different things, I find money is one factor that speaks to us all. If you're hit in the pocketbook, then you're more likely to take action. After all, you work hard for your money and don't want it to go waste!
Stop Wasting Your Hard-Earned Cash!
Try this for some extra inspiration...Think about your biggest organizing problem. Let’s just say, for example, that it’s your home office. Assume that you're losing $20 a week ($3 a day) in personal resources - lost time, energy, productivity, sanity - because you don’t have an effective organizing system in place. (It's probably even more than $3/ day, but we'll go for a moderate amount.) Imagine you decide against de-cluttering your home office and continue down the same unorganized path for the next 5 years. You will lose over $5000 of resources! Although that $5000 is just a hypothetical figure, I feel it puts disorganization in a whole new light.
